MUSCLE MASS VS FAT MASS
In general muscle mass is more healthy than fat mass. Some athletes may find that their BMI number falls within the range of being overweight, yet when measuring their actual body fat they may be found to have a low percentage of body fat. If their BMI number is high as a result of excessive muscle mass, this may not be an indication that they need to lose weight. On the other hand recent studies suggest that a larger BMI, regardless of whether it is because of muscle or fat, may be hard on your body.
