Some diet professionals recommend eating 5 meals a day instead of 3, in order to decrease hunger and time between meals. This may be a viable option for you as you set a routine to lose weight. Of course, if you eat 5 meals a day instead of 3 meals, you need to eat less calories (smaller meals) each meal than you would eating 3 meals. One can also continue eating 3 meals a day and lose weight. It’s all a matter of the total calories you eat every day.  No matter if you eat 5 meals per day versus 3 meals per day, if you eat the same amount of total calories each day, you will lose the same amount of weight.
